Established in 2018 in memory of Luke Tyrrell, this scholarship supports graduating seniors from South Jefferson Central School who have demonstrated a way of making everyone in their lives feel important and loved, are aware of those less fortunate and express a willingness to reach out to them, whether to lend a helping hand or to be a friend, and always welcoming the "new kid' and helping them fit in. Recipients should also have a passion for nature and/or outdoor sports and activities.

This charitable campaign project fund will help ensure sustainability of planned improvements to the Glenwood Cemetery which include roadway reconstruction, a columbarium, and upgrades to infrastructure. The campaign fundraising goal includes ongoing maintenance and improvement costs, which will provide an enduring legacy on the community for generations to come. The campaign will work together with the Glenwood Cemetery Endowment Fund, established at the Community Foundation in 2021.

North Central Zone of the Retired Educators of NY Scholarship

Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who resides in either Jefferson or Lewis county. Student must be pursuing a career in teaching and be accepted into a college starting the fall following their high school graduation.
Nancy Vecchio Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2024 by Jennifer Williams, in memory of Nancy Vecchio. The scholarship is to honor Nancy's commitment to local student-athletes and to support two Frontier League senior athletes that represent the positive impact they make on their team, school and community.
Potsdam Educational Opportunities Endowment Fund

Potsdam Educational Opportunities Endowment Fund

This fund builds permanent charitable support for the Potsdam Educational Opportunities Fund (PEOF), supporting Potsdam Central School teachers, staff and students on the basis of competitive proposals.

The PEOF Advisory Committee represents a broad cross-section of parents, community leaders, and concerned citizens who work in close collaboration with teachers and administrators.

A generous anonymous donor is providing a 3:1 match on gifts to this fund through September 1, 2024.

North Country Music Project Fund

This fund will help build charitable support for The North Country Music Project, an effort to commemorate and honor musicians and music traditions that have helped make the North Country a special place.

Roswell P. Flower Memorial Library will serve as the permanent home for the unique archive of digital recordings accompanied by text transcripts and podcasts, which will all be available online.
City Skate Park Fund

City Skate Park Fund

Established to raise funds for a city skate park to be constructed in Watertown, NY. If sufficient funds are not raised for the construction of a new park within two years of the resolution by City Council, the fund will be utilized to make improvements to the existing skate park.

Two target amounts we’re trying to reach:

The first $10,000 raised will be to pay for the skate park concept and design.

Once this has been reached, $500,000 is an estimated end goal for a 10,000 Sq ft concrete skatepark, subject to change after completing the design.

This scholarship was established 2024 to support graduates of Watertown High School who are working toward a degree at a two-year college or community college and have completed one year or the two-year program and are proceeding to the second year or are working toward a degree at a four-year college/university and have completed at least two years and are entering either their junior or senior year.

The EmpowerPlay Fund of the Northern New York Community Foundation is dedicated to leveling the playing field in youth sports by providing financial support to aspiring athletes within the South Jefferson School District. The fund provides support to youth with a demonstrated need to purchase sports equipment and assists with the costs associated with joining sports clubs or teams.
